I am in the process of rebuilding the caribana.ca site as a community Website. It has been dormant since 2005, and I find that’s too long for a site that attracted more that ½ million hits at some point. It may take some time before the entire site is functional. Meanwhile I have added a home page that works like twitter, where people can join and start blabbing away on any subject. I trust you will be responsible and refrain by showing the same respect to others as you’d like then to show to you. You can refer to incidents without naming names, because you will be responsible for all articles on your blab. If you are going to be nasty, then please don’t join.
The following are some basic rules that one must followed to maintain his/her member of the new site.
- Please don't abuse this privilege.
- No pornography or sexually explicit content are allowed on you YouTube videos. This includes photographs of children which is illegal and will be reported to law enforcement.
- No videos showing incidents like animal abuse, drug abuse or bomb making or any form of violence.
- Your must respect the copyright rules and post only videos that you’ve made or are authorized to use.
- Free speech has it’s limitations, and although we encourage free speech and one’s right to express his/her opinions: We will not permit hate speech; which attacks or demeans a group based on race or ethnic origin, religion, disability, gender, age, veteran status and sexual preferences.
- We reserve the right to permanently remove a member who is in violation of the basic rules described above.
- Please adhere to all the above rules and don’t look for loopholes or arguments to weasel you way out. Please try to understand that the rules are there to protect you and others who may access the site.
- Any violations of the rules may result in a warning notification or termination of your account. You would be prohibited form creating a new account if your account is removed.
Caribana.ca will be a dynamic community base website Please get involved and participate in what ever may interest you. It is your community, and it is your site! Please register and have some fun. Feel free to give you opinions of features that can be covered. Communication will be paramount in our endeavor to make this site a true community base Website. As a member you will be able to post advertisements on the site. This will happen for a few months until we know how much bandwidth the site is using.
I will add more to the rules as time passes to ensure we stay on track. I intend to ensure the site operates as a dynamic community forum to disseminate information to our entire community. Our standards for posting on the site will be very high, so be prepared to do some work on any documents, or materials you may want to publish. We require all the information on the registration page to enable us to know who’s using the site. I will remove the last name to protect your identity from others. You can terminate your registration at any time if you so desire. That's all folks! See you on site! —
